A few 2010 favourites

In honour of the new year I thought I would post a few of my favourite things from 2010.

As mentioned before, I love TED.COM. Two talks by Sir Ken Robinson, this one and this one, talk about an important idea that I am really excited about; bringing more creativity into schools.

I have been eating pancakes for breakfast almost everyday now, I make a whole bunch on the weekend and keep them in the freezer. I eat them with frozen berries melted together with maple syrup and cottage cheese. I must credit my room mate Julia for the inspiration and I mean really, how can a day go wrong when it starts out with pancakes?

Radiolab is newly discovered podcast I have been enjoying, they have short and long ones with some cool ideas.

Being with my brother and sister together over Christmas was really special. It was the first time al three of us were together in 3 years or something crazy and even though we are all so different somehow we all fit together just right. Spending time with them, getting to know them again, was really nice.

I took an online course last semester, so naturally, when it was crunch time and I really needed to study, I decided that I love reading and went on a crazy reading binge instead. The best book I read, and now one of my all time favorites, was The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It is a sad story written in a lovely way, and I’ve never read a book just like it.
