Pan American Championships Postponed

Unfortunately, the 2009 Pan-American Championships in Chihuahua, Mexico
have been postponed due to health concerns. The preventative measures that
the Federal Government and State Government have implemented in regards to
the recent outbreak of Swine Flu in Mexico lead to this decision. The organizers
of the event and the Mexican Cycling Federation sent the following:

“After corresponding with the federal authorities, (we) have decided to postpone
this Pan-American Cycling Championships to a possible date in June, 2009.
COPACI is already making arrangements (to) organize this event at an alternate
venue.”

The CCA supports the decision to postpone the event. The health and safety of
athletes and staff representing the national team are our utmost priority. We will
keep you informed on the rescheduling of the Pan-American Championships as
we receive information from the organizers.
