I was in Chapters the other day and came across a beautiful book about authentic Chinese cuisine. Beyond the Great Wall byJeffrey Alford and Naomi Duguid. I was inspired to make homemade dumplings (even the wrappers). They were very simple to make, and they look beautiful, but they didn’t have the authentic feel or taste that I’d felt in the pictures. I hope I can find the real ones in China next month!
Tanya was in Columbia last week and brought home real, I mean real, pure cane sugar in big blocks, and 100% cocoa chocolate. We melted them together with milk, a vanilla bean and just a touch of cayenne pepper to make the most wonderful hot chocolate.
